“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”

The Sacrament of Matrimony is a sacred bond, or covenant, between a man and a woman that pledge to be faithful lifelong spouses, loving and caring for each other and lovingly raising and guiding the children they bring into the world.

Specifically, it celebrates a couple’s commitment to share their whole lives together and to reveal God’s love to themselves, their children, and others through their marriage relationship.

Couples planning to marry at Sacred Heart should reach out to the Pastor or Deacon at least eight (8) months prior to the requested date. Please do not make reception arrangements until the date has been confirmed by the Pastor. For more information please contact the Parish Office at 518-668-2046.
